Remove the single screw holding the old handle in place. Use a flat blade screwdriver to jimmy the old handle away from the door about an inch. There are two plastic clips holding it to the rods, one for the locking mechanism and one for the latch. Use the flat blade screwdriver to unclip these two connectors.
